The 2016 Peace Agreement between President Juan Manuel Santos and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) ended the 52-year Civil War in Colombia, giving the indigenous communities control of their Coca Crops.
During a trip to Columbia, an MOU was signed between the FARC and Indigenous communities, allowing for inspection of the Coca plants in Colombia upon written request from the Foundation.
In February 2024, a planned trip to Colombia is expected to result in the signing of an agreement to establish Tilapia Fish Farms and bottled drinking water plants in place of Coca fields.
